Sedu Hairstyles & Haircuts Advice

Lately celebrities and a-listers everywhere are sporting beautiful, straight, healthy hair. The Sedu Haircut Stylesstyle even has its own name: Sedu (think seductive). Luckily, everyone, not just Jennifer Aniston and Halle Berry, can wear this soft, silky, straight hair.

Sedu hairstyles work well for all hair types, whether long or short, straight or curly. There are many variations to the sedu hairstyle as well. Hair can be worked till it is very straight or styled with more volume.

Sedu Hairstyling Tools

The trick to creating this hairstyle is easy; a flat iron, paddle brush and round bristle brush will do the job. There are many varieties of flat irons on the market today. Sedu produces its own brand of flat irons, or you can choose one that fits you. Usually a smaller size, under 2”, is best. Large flat irons are also available, but they usually aren’t as efficient as the smaller ones. Also, choose an iron that has multiple heat settings, as everyone has different hair.

Sedu Hair Styling

To get started with your Sedu hairstyle, make sure your hair is clean and damp. If your hair is very curly or coarse, feel free to add a small amount of serum or straightening balm to your hair. Blow dry your hair with a round bristle brush or a paddle brush. Round brushes work well to pull out the curl and keep your hair from getting too frizzy. Be sure to dry your hair down the hair shaft from root to tip to keep it shiny. Finish off with a blast of cold air to increase shine as well.

If this is your first time using a flat iron, start off on a low setting, and increase if necessary. Very curly or unruly hair may need to start off at a medium setting and work up from there. A setting that is too high will burn your hair and cause excess breakage. Using small sections of hair, run the flat iron from root to tip. It may also help to run a small comb alongside the front of the flat iron when going down your hair to keep it straight and in place. For straight, flat styles, use a slightly higher heat setting and use the iron on each section of hair. For more volumized hair, use a lower heat setting and only use the iron on half of the sections of hair, focusing on the top. Continue using the iron until you reach your desired look.

Once you have mastered the Sedu hairstyle, there are many variations to wearing it long including ponytails, buns and updo’s. All of these look great with the Sedu style, and can update your look.

Sedu Hairstyles Tips

Be sure to never use a flat iron on damp hair. This can burn your hair and cause major damage. If you can’t seem to master the art of using a flat iron, make an appointment with a local salon for a wash and style. Ask the stylist to show you how to use a flat iron.
